We get birth, we study, get good job, spend money to get pleasure and enjoyment, again work and again enjoy, this becomes our routine life. This is what generally happens in society, where we all live together, secure and sheltered. But there are some people, in the same society where we live sheltered and happily, don’t do the same things which we all do, they don’t enjoy their life even though they can. What all they do is, stand guard around our fence with guns and grenades so that we can enjoy our money, our life. Those people are known by everyone as “Soldiers”.
Very selflessly they guard us, without any expectations from us. While we all are busy doing our day-to-day activities, without even considering a fact that, they are standing there, getting bullets to their heart, so that we could enjoy here. In return how much we remember them? How much respect we give to them? What we do to make their life easy? Responses for questions asked are not very positive. Reasons for not very positive response can be, we don’t even remember that they exist. For us they are some unknown superpowers who are made just to save our lives from enemies and nothing else. No strings attached. But in reality that is not the case. Soldiers are just like us, with compassionate parents, lovely wife/husband and beautiful kids. While guarding the border, even they do remember their family, while dying on the war field, even they worry for future of their kids. So much similarity with us. No super powers, just normal and simple. So it’s time to come out of our own bubble and see around, see what soldiers are going through, how do they live and most importantly how and who takes care of their families after they get injured or in worst scenario martyred, and try and be the one responsible citizen who helps to make their life peaceful and their children’s future secure.
“Atharva foundation” is giving us one such opportunity in the form of an event “One for all, all for one”, where we can relive the life of 10 braveheart martyrs-who sacrificed their lives, by narrating their stories to us, and by bringing their families so that we could tribute them, felicitate them for their bravery, on, 31st January, 2018 at NSCI- Dome, Worli, 6:30 onwards. Let’s take one step forward towards soldiers, to see the world through their eyes and be as patriotic, as selfless and as helpful as them. Let’s show them that, now it’s our time to stand for them as they do for us.
